부산교구 해양사목(Stella Maris Busan)에서는 한국 천주교 해양사목 발상지로서의 역사를 기념하고 가톨릭센터 건립에 공헌해주신 분들을 기억하고 감사드리기 위해, 가톨릭센터 정원에 '한국 천주교 해양사목 발상지 및 가톨릭센터 건립 공헌 기념비'를 마련하였습니다.
6월 24일(토) 오후 3시 "제30회 해양수산인의 날"에 부산교구 총대리 신호철 비오 주교님의 축복식과 함께 제막식 및 미사가 거행될 예정입니다.

한국 천주교 해양사목 발상지 및 가톨릭센터 건립 공헌 기념비 천주교 부산교구 해양사목은 교황청의 제안으로 1978년 6월 1일 한국에서 최초로 해양사목 활동을 시작했습니다. 바다를 삶의 터전으로 하는 선원들만을 대상으로 하지 않고, 육지에 남겨진 해양가족들을 위한 사목 활동도 병행했습니다. 특별히, 선원들을 위한 해양사목 센터의 필요성을 느꼈던 부산교구에서는 1979년 독일 미시오(Missio)를 통해 기금 원조를 받아, ‘가톨릭센터’ 건립에도 공헌하였습니다. 이 공로를 통해, 가톨릭센터 7층을 해양사목 사무실로 배당받아 사용하고 있습니다. 1991년부터는 ‘해양·수산인의 날’을 제정하여 매년 기념하고 있습니다. 이날은 해양·수산인들을 위한 법정기념일인 ‘바다의 날’의 근간이 되었습니다. 이 외에도 방선활동, 예비선원교육, 해양가족미사, 선원고충상담, 선박축복식 등 해양가족들을 위한 다양한 활동을 이어오고 있습니다. 이 기념비를 통해, 한국 천주교 해양사목 발상지로서의 역사를 기념하고 가톨릭센터 건립에 공헌해주신 모든 분을 기억하고 감사드리기 위해 이 비를 세웁니다. 2023년 6월 25일 세계선원의 날 천주교 부산교구 해양사목(Stella Maris Busan) Monument to the Birthplace of Korean Catholic Maritime History and Contribution to the Construction of the Catholic Center. The Catholic Diocese of Busan began its first maritime activities in Korea on June 1, 1978, at the suggestion of the Vatican. It did not only target sailors who lived in the sea, but also engaged in private activities for marine families left on land. In particular, the Busan Diocese, which felt the need for a marine private center for sailors, also contributed to the construction of the 'Catholic Center' by receiving funding from Missio, Germany, in 1979. With this contribution, the 7th floor of the Catholic Center is allocated to the Marine Private Office. Since 1991, 'Marine and Fishermen's Day' has been established and celebrated every year. This day became the basis of 'Sea Day', a legal anniversary for marine and fisheries. In addition, shipbuilding activities, preliminary crew education, marine family mass, sailor grievance counseling, ship blessing ceremony, etc, We are continuing various activities for marine families. Through this monument, the Catholic Church celebrates its history as the birthplace of Korean Catholic maritime history.
