천주교 부산교구 해양사목(Stella Maris Busan, 담당 : 김현 안셀모 신부, 회장 : 이상일 유대철베드로)에서는 IMO(국제해사기구)에서 정한 ‘세계 선원의 날’(6월 25일)을 맞아, 6월 24일(토) 오후 3시 가톨릭센터 소극장에서 ‘제30회 해양·수산인의 날’을 개최하였습니다. 해양·수인의 날은 해양·수산인의 긍지를 더 높이고 친목을 도모하기 위해 1991년 처음으로 마련되었으며, 1996년부터는 해양수산부 주관의 법정기념일로 지정되어 ‘바다의 날’(5월 31일, 장보고 대사가 청해진을 설치한 날)로 분리되어 거행되고 있습니다.
올해 개최된 ‘제30회 해양·수산인의 날’은 팬데믹의 영향으로 3년 만에 재개되었습니다. 이번행사에는 바다를 삶을 터전으로 하는 해양·수산업 종사자와 가족 그리고 예비 해양인력 전문양성기관인 국립한국해양대학교 재학생과 국립해사고등학교 재학생, 한국해양수산연수원의 외국인 연수생 그리고 봉사자 등 100여 명의 해양·수산인이 함께하였습니다.
천주교 부산교구 총대리 신호철 비오 주교의 주례로 거행된 이날 행사는 1부 ‘한국 천주교 해양사목 발상지 및 가톨릭센터 건립 공헌 기념비’ 축복식을 시작으로, 2부 해양·수산인을 위한 감사미사로 진행되었습니다. 이어서, 한국천주교 주교회의 이주사목위원장 정순택 베드로 대주교의 축하 동영상과 조승환 해양수산부 장관의 축하 메시지가 이어졌습니다. 그리고 표창 및 장학금 수여식과 함께, 3부 국립한국해양대학교 학생들의 축하공연과 레크 및 경품 추첨으로 마무리되었습니다.
특별히, 1부 기념비 축복식은 세계 가톨릭교회 해양사목(Stella Maris) 100주년(2020년) 기념사업의 목적으로 이루어졌으며, 한국 천주교 해양사목 발상지로서의 역사를 기념하고 천주교 부산교구 해양사목의 가톨릭센터 건립에 공헌한 것을 기억하고 감사드리기 위해 마련되었습니다.

Stella Maris Busan(Catholic Diocese of Busan in South Korea) held the 30th Marine Fisheries Day celebration on June 24(sat) at the Catholic centre to mark World seafarers Day(June 25) set by IMO(International Maritime Organization). Marine Fisheries Day was first organized in 1991 to enhance self-esteem and amity of marine fisheries and since 1996, it has been designated as ‘Memorial day’ set by Korea Ministeng of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries and bas been held separately as 'Sea Day'(May31).
The Celebration of the 30th anniversary of Marine Fisheries Day was resumed this year in three years due to pandemic. Over 100 maritime workers including marine workers and their families, professors and students from Korea Maritime University, premarine manpower training institution and national maritime high school and, overseas trainees from Korea Institue of Maritime and Fisheries Technology celebrated this event all together.
This celebration was officiated by Very Rev Bishop Pius Shin vicar general of Busan Catholic Diocese divided into 3 sections.
The fist section was started with blessing of memorial stone, commemorating for being a cradle of marine ministry in catholic church of Korea and contributing to Catholic Centre construction.
In the second section, thanksgiving mass for Marine Fisheries was celebrated, followed by a congratulatory video watching of Archbishop Peter Jung, the chairma n of migrant minister of Korean Catholic Church and a congratulatory adress from Mr. Cho, minister of Korean Ministery of Oceans and Fisheries, In addition, awarding scholarship and commendation ceremony was advanced.
Lastly the celebration was ended up with gala performance by Korea Marine University and prize draw event.
Particulary the ceremony of blessing of the memorial stone in the first section was celebrated for the express purpose of commemorating the works of Stella Maris (100th foundation anniversary in 2020 )of catholic churches over the world and to commemorate the history as a being a cradle of marine ministry of Korean Catholic Church and to remember and express gratitudes for the contribution to the construction of Catholic Centre.
